Óscar Fernández: “The team will go down battling, with the heads held high and giving a good showing like today”
Valencia CF Mestalla head coach, Óscar Fernández assesed the 1-1 home draw to CE L’ Hospitalet in post-match press conference.
“The game sums up the season. The team are superior, generate plenty of chances and in the last kick of the game we have a two on four counter-attack and it comes back off both posts and the keeper gathers it when the goal was gaping. The last play sums up the season.
The team will go down battling, with the heads held high and giving a good showing like today. We must keep going that’s all there is to it.
We have to talk about relegation, but this team grow in the face of adversity. We value the result but this is a process of development and we want to see them edging closer to the top flight, we’re always closer to everything but it takes a significant toll on us.”
